Our Story

1996

Establishment of the company “Angewandte Technologien Blank ATB”: Workshop in the attic and software development in the living room

1996

Presentation of the frontside scanner ARGUS Frontal, still exemplary for the texture recognition of timber.

1997

Launch of initial products and ideas. ATB gains recognition in the woodworking industry and relocates to Buch to support expansion and a growing workforce.

1997

Development of the glue application scanner ARGUS Checker for detection of PVA-ropes and control of the resorcine application on formwork girders.

1998

Installation if the first colour scanner ARGUS Spectra for sorting of mosaic parquet. Easy handling and high-class sorting due to novel recognition logic guarantee the great success of the product

2001

Installation of the fastest scanner for sorting of profiled timber in the Netherlands: The throughput rate of 450m/min combned with a length resolution of less than 0,6 mm are unmatched till then.

2002

Official opening of the new company building—state-of-the-art and as progressive as ATB’s products, featuring a passive-house design with solar and pellet heating, earth tube air systems, and rainwater reuse.

2003

Enhancement of the product range by the mechanisation “TransSort”. ATB now acts as complete provider for destacking, automatic quality sorting, transport devices and stacking of parquet lamellas.

2006

ATB has evolved into an international operating company: With an export proportion of 70% ATB is a world wide supplier with main focus on Western and Northern Europe.
